What is Acro?
Acrobatics is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. This physically demanding class seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics through choreography and focuses on fundamental acrobatic technique to teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control and concentration. You child will learn handstands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks.
This discipline places emphasis on athleticism, agility, strength, control, flexibility and balance. We believe here at WADPA, that being an all-round performer, acro dance is very important to study and it also compliments other genres such as ballet and jazz.
Who can do Acro?
Anyone! Acro is not a tumbling or gymnastics class, it will teach you great tricks and help develop your child’s skills like athleticism and balance. This class is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility, and strength for dancing.
What age group is this class for?
At WADPA, we have beginner jazz classes from the age of 4 up to 18. Your child can attend classes for different dance styles to make the most of their experience at WADPA.

Which syllabus do we teach at WADPA?
At WADPA we teach BTDA for acrobatic dance. BTDA is an international awarding body and exams available from beginner to grade 8. We encourage our students to sit exams, if they wish to.
